Policies and Restrictions

Code of Conduct

To provide a safe, secure and pleasant environment for all of our Guests, the following are strictly prohibited:

  • Carrying or possession of any weapons.
  • Committing any act defined by Federal, State, or Local ordinances as criminal activity.
  • Any conduct that is disorderly, disruptive, or may endanger others. Such conduct includes fighting or threatening behavior, use of obscenities, gesturing, running, jogging, or the use of skateboards, roller blades, bicycles, scooters, radios, etc.
  • Wearing apparel, accessories, displaying body art, or gesturing in a manner likely to provoke a disturbance or embroil others in conflict, or commonly affiliated with gangs.
  • Failing to be fully clothed.
  • Loitering, blocking entrances or exits, and walking in groups in a way that inconveniences others.
  • Picketing, distributing literature, petitioning, or soliciting.
  • Smoking is not permitted within the Theme Park.
  • Engaging in unauthorized commercial activity including photography or recording other than for personal use.
We would also like to remind everyone that:
  • Metal detectors and X-ray machines are in use.
  • All visitors must pass through metal detection and are subject to secondary screening.
  • All bags, backpacks, purses, packages and personal items are subject to X-ray and/or additional inspection prior to entry.
  • Illegal items will be confiscated by Law Enforcement.
  • Failure to comply with all posted rules, signs, warnings and policies is prohibited and may result in expulsion from the premises.
  • Line jumping and placeholding in line are prohibited.
  • Proper attire, including shirts and shoes, must be worn at all times. Except as required for religious or medical reasons, visitors may not wear any covering that fully or partially obscures a person’s face. Costumes must adhere to the costume policy. Clothing, costumes or accessories that may represent someone as emergency personnel, create a false impression of employment by Universal or be inappropriate for a family environment are prohibited.
  • Service Animals are welcome. Animals who do not meet the definition of a Service Animal and/or are not in the company of a person training such animal to be a service animal, are not permitted.
    • Service Animals must be harnessed, leashed or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the Service Animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal or other effective controls.
  • Smoking or consuming tobacco (including e-cigarettes and vaporizers) is prohibited.
  • Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or designated chaperone at all times. The accompanying adult must be at least 18 years old and present a valid government-issued photo ID showing date of birth.

Prohibited Items

In addition to items outlined by the Code of Conduct, the following are strictly prohibited:

  • Any weapon, explosive or item that appears or could be used as a weapon.
  • Any illegal item, substance or paraphernalia.
  • Marijuana or marijuana paraphernalia.
  • Alcohol or drinks containing alcohol.
  • Outside food or beverages.
    • Except bottled water (2 liters per guest maximum), small snacks, any food required for medical purposes, medically indicated nutritional supplements, or for special dietary needs, and baby food/baby formula, which is permitted.
  • Glass containers or hard-sided coolers.
    • Only soft-sided coolers smaller than 8.5" wide x 6" high x 6" deep are permitted.
  • Bags with wheels or suitcases.
  • Power driven or radio frequency-controlled devices, unless they are a mobility device.
  • Skateboards, scooters or rollerblades.
  • Any other items Universal personnel deem to be harmful, disruptive or inappropriate.

Clothing / Costume Policy

In addition to the items outlined by the Code of Conduct:

  • Unless purchased as part of a Universal experience, face painting is permitted only if it covers no more than one-half of the face (applied vertically only). Guests may be requested to modify their makeup or remove any type of facial covering to meet the above standards.
  • Clothing that Universal determines is indecent, exposes excessive portions of the skin or that Universal views as inappropriate for a family environment is prohibited.
  • Service animals may not wear or be part of a costume.
  • Costumes cannot exceed 28 inches wide x 80 inches high. Costumes are subject to secondary x-ray screenings.
  • Some costumes may not be permitted on certain attractions for safety concerns.
  • If a guest is in a costume that is not deemed permissible, the guest will be asked to change into something more appropriate or exit the park.

Guests are not permitted to have any type of explosive, weapon, or item that can be used as a weapon or has the appearance of a weapon, or illegal items or substances within Universal Kids Resort Hotel.
